Jack G. Vaughn

Jack G. Vaughn, 80, of Osceola died Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at the Methodist Central Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. Born December 27, 1929, he was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Osceola and served as CEO of First National Bank for 24 years. He was past president of the Osceola-South Mississippi County Chamber of Commerce and received the Citizen of the Year award. He was past president of the Osceola Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow, as well as a past trustee of Arkansas Northeastern College. He was instrumental in bringing the ANC college branch to Osceola and the leader in building the Harold Ohlendorf Civic Center. He was also past president of the Red Cross and founding first president of the South Mississippi County United Way. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patricia Vaughn; three sons, Gary Vaughn, and wife Susan, of Memphis, Greg Vaughn of Osceola and the Rev. Glen Vaughn, and wife Cindy of Damariscotta, Maine; one daughter, Gena Barker and husband, Gerald of Oakland, Tenn.; and six grandchildren.
