Floye Mae Odle Brown went home to be with her Lord Sunday, December 26, 2010. She was born February 27, 1922 in Conway, Arkansas to Edward and Tomazine Smith Odle. Floye Mae was married to Thomas Howard Brown for 54 years. She was a member of Levy Baptist Church but had attended Amboy Methodist Church with her brother and sister-in-law, where she felt a part of that church family until her health prevented attendance. In 1961, she started nursing school and did her practical training at the "old" Baptist Hospital and worked there and at the new facility until her retirement. She took great pride in her role as a nurse and became a favorite of many of the doctors and nurses who depended on her. She also started a painting class after she retired and loved gardening and studying her Bible, one of which she has written many notes on every page. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister, Jeraldine Ballard. She is survived by one brother, Edward Odle of North Little Rock; two sisters Alene Griffin (Pat) of Sherwood and Nancy Elliott Smith (Bill) of North Little Rock. She is also survived by a large number of nieces and nephews and their families who loved her dearly. She had a special grand-niece, Ashleigh Batte, who was born on her birthday. Memorials may be made to Amboy United Methodist Church, 311 E Military, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72118. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday in the North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main, 758-1170. Online obituary and guest registry at www.nlrfh.com.
