Jay Randall Hackney

Jay Randall Hackney, 48, of Gillett died July 4, 2010 at his home. He was born April 12, 1962 in Stuttgart to Weber Paul and Marjorie Merle Ruffin Hackney. He was a contractor and member of the Farmers and Businessmen, Ducks Unlimited and Buckmasters. Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Best Hackney; children, Hannah Hackney of Gillett, Stephanie Hackney of Monticello, Dallas Hackney of Gillett; his mother, Marjorie Hackney; brother, Jimmy Hackney, both of Gillett; sister, Paula Cossey of Searcy. He was preceded in death by his father, W.P. Hackney and brother, Joe Dale Hackney. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, Gillett with burial at Gillett Cemetery by Essex Funeral Home, DeWitt. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to DeWitt Hospital and Nursing Home or First Baptist Church, Gillett.
