Russell Painter Miller, Jr. age 62, of Jacksonville was born June 25, 1947 in Herndon, Virginia to the late Russell ( Pappy), Sr. and Katherine Miller. Russ left this world to be with our Heavenly Father June 8, 2010. He is survived by his brother William "Big Bill" and wife Eloise Miller of Hickory, North Carolina. Russ served in the Army from 1969 to 1973 and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal and was discharged as a Specialist 5. Russ was employed at Dassault Falcon Jet for 31 years as a special project manager. He loved camping, fishing, animals and is the #1 North Carolina Tar Heels fan. He will be remembered as a friend who never turned his back on anyone in need. He was kind, loving, genuine and loyal. Russ always made you laugh and certainly had the biggest heart of gold. His extended family Clay, Pete and Joe La Rochelle, Gary, Jennifer and Amanda Heinrich. Darrell and Andee Carter, Bill and Chris Moore, Colombus and Virginia Abrams all give great appreciation to the staff of Arkansas hospice, especially to Kari and Porsche for their heartfelt compassion. The family requests that donations be made to Arkansas hospice and to the American society of prevention of cruelty to animals ( ASPCA) Visitation will be 6 until 8 p.m., Thursday, June 10, 2010. Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m., Friday, June 11, 2010 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home (501) 982-2136. Interment will follow in Arkansas State Veteran's Cemetery.
