Geneva Thomason, 85, Donaldson, Ark. died Sunday June 13, 2010 peacefully in her home in Hot Springs Co. after a long illness. She was born February 10, 1925 in Hot Springs, Ark. to the late John Henry and Nettie Barks. She attended High School in both Friendship and Bismarck, Arkansas. Mrs. Thomason lived many years in Texarkana and Wake Village, Texas. She was an Avon representative and a child care provider at various times, but she spent most of her life as a home-maker who was devoted to her family. She was a member of Wake Village Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dock James Thomason. She is survived by two daughters, Evelyn Campagna of Midway, Ark. and Linda Byrd and husband Dennis of Benton, Ark.; a brother, Claude Barks of Hot Springs; four grandchildren, Julia Drummond of Mansfield, Texas, Robert Weaver of Wake Village, Texas, Dennis Byrd Jr. of Benton, and Roxie Hopman, also of Benton; and six great-grandchildren. The family will be at the Byrd home in Benton. A graveside service will be at 10am Wednesday at Old DeRoche Cemetery in Bismarck with Rev. Kevin Spurlin and Dr. Rick Grant officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Atkinson Funeral Home.
