Etta Pearl Turney

Etta Pearl Turney, 73, of Higden, passed away November 8, 2010, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. She was born October 29, 1937, in Lone Pine to the late Lewis and Allie (Brewer) Verser. She married Jesse Eural (J.E.) Turney Jr. on July 7, 1956. She was a 1956 graduate of West Side High School and was a member of Lone Star Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, J.E. Turney, of Higden; daughters, Vickie Verser and husband, Randy, of Greers Ferry, and Sherry Majors and husband, Ronny, of Greers Ferry; grandsons, John Verser of St. Meinrad, Indiana, Jim Verser and wife, Diandra, of Greers Ferry, and Teagus Majors and wife, Jenny, of Greers Ferry; a great-grandson, Keaton Majors; a brother, Harold Verser, and wife, June Ellen, of Heber Springs; three nieces, one nephew, and a host of family and friends. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Nov. 9, at the Lone Star Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 10, at 2 p.m. at the Lone Star Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Higden-McLehaney Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Greg Verser, Grady Brown and Feldus Murphree, and her grandsons, John Verser, Jim Verser and Teagus Majors.
