Anthony C. "Tony" Bertelin passed away on October 18, 2010. Memorial services to honor his life will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, October 23, 2010, at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Charles Clark of Henrietta Congregational Methodist Church, Converse, La. Tony was born August 23, 1944, in Newark, N.J. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy as a gunners mate first class from 1960-1963 and was in the Navy Reserve from 1965-1969. Tony had been employed with Harrah's Casino since 2002. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and Knights of Columbus. He was also an avid golfer and a member of East Ridge Country Club. Tony was preceded in death by his father, Michael Bertelin. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mrs. Barbara Bertelin; son, David Bertelin and wife, Debbie of Sherwood, Ark.; grandsons, Alan Saffle and wife, Monica of Bryant, Ark., and Clint Saffle and wife, Kristen of Royse City, Texas; great-grandsons, Cody, Austin and Ethan Saffle of Bryant, Ark.; mother, Viola Bertelin of Mansfield, La.; sister, Donna Garber and husband, Dale and their children, Danny, Dale Carl, Dawn, Denise, and Chessie of New Jersey; sister-in-law, Joanne Owens and husband, James and family of Florida; aunt, Blossom Ruday of Texas; and numerous extend family and friends. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of Odyssey Hospice, especially R.N.'s Gracie and Ammer Gayle, and a special thank you to Seleta Rich. They would also like to thank their very special friends, Mark, Jeni, Richard, Tina, and Phyllis for all of their help during this difficult time.
