Billy J. Deaton, 84, of East End died September 1, 2010. He was born November 7, 1925 in Tuckerman, Ark. to the late William Kimberlin and May (Selvidge) Deaton. He was a member of Fairview Missionary Baptist Church, a WW II US Army Veteran and a farmer. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Weir and Jenny Bennett (Harold "Tink"), both of East End; six grandchildren Carrie Griffin (Mark) of Grapevine, Ark., Paul Sellers (Kim) of Grapevine, Jason Smotherman of East End, Michael Sellers (Patricia) of Ico, Cassie Murphy (Tom) of Coon Rapids, Minn., Eddie Bennett (Stephanie) of East End; two step-grandchildren, Jacquetta (Kenny) Herron of East End and Kelly South (Mark) of Little Rock; one sister, Peggy Claxton of Tuckerman and one brother, Kenneth Deaton (Barbara) of Rock Island, Ill.; and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 4, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Roller-Ballard Chapel in Benton (315-4047) with Dr. Paul Carter officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Paul Sellers, Mike Sellers, Jason Smotherman, Eddie Bennett, Chris Griffin and Brett Sellers. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, September 3, 2010 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. The family requests memorials be made to Fairview Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund, 26401 S.
