Gladys Berniece Harris, 84, of Centerton, went to be with her Lord Sept. 17, 2010 at her home in Centerton. Mrs. Harris was born Oct. 24, 1925 in Dewey, Okla., the daughter of Claude and Madge Robinson Fisher. She was a homemaker, an employee of Bemco Industries, and retired from Bentonville Public Schools Food Services. Gladys served the community as a 4-H leader in the Centerton 4-H club for over 20 years. She also spent many years working with the children of the First Baptist Church of Centerton where she was a member for 63 years. She is preceded in death by her mother Madge and her dad Isaac "Ike" Essary and three brothers Vern Fisher, Wilber "Jack" Fisher and Frank Essary. Survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Wayne Harris of the home; children Robert Harris and Joan of Parthenon, Ark.; Barbara Harris Everett and John of San Diego, Calif.; and Marion Harris and Connie of Gravette, Ark.; her sister Betty Essary Williams and George of San Antonio, Texas; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Centerton with Pastor Stewart Bell and Rev. Clifford Palmer officiating. Interment will be in the Benton County Memorial Park Cemetery, Rogers, Ark. Visitation will be Monday evening, Sept. 20, 6-8:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Centerton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lottie Moon Christmas Offering in care of First Baptist Church of Centerton or a charity of your choice.
