Don H. Landes

Don H. Landes, age 66, of Lewisville, Arkansas, passed away at his home Monday, September 20, 2010. Mr. Landes was preceded in death by his parents Hazel and Ulyss Landes of Lewisville. He is survived by his wife, Betty Landes; his sons and their wives: Gabriel and Cheryl Landes of Schertz, Texas; Matthew and April Landes of Spring, Texas; and Jacob and Tarah Landes of Smyrna, Tenn. He is also survived by his sister, Phyllis Landes of Bodcaw, Ark.; seven precious grandchildren and numerous other family and friends. Coach Landes, as he was known by many, spent most of his career as head football coach and a mathematics teacher at Lamar Consolidated High School in Rosenberg, Texas. In 1998, he retired and moved back to the family farm in Lewisville, Ark. Memorial services will be held at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, September 23, 2010, at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Stamps, Ark. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the First Baptist Church of Lewisville, or to the charity of choice.
