Judy Louise Hoover

Judy Louise Wahlquist Hoover, age 88, of Pearcy, died Friday, Sept. 24, 2010. She was born on March 27, 1922 in Mammoth Springs, Ark., the daughter of William Brian Wahlquist and Joann Long Wahlquist. On Oct. 22, 1945, she was married to the Rev. John Wesley Hoover Jr., who preceded her in death on Jan. 23, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, John Wesley Hoover III and one daughter, Vicky Lynn Hoover. As a Baptist minister's wife, Judy worked alongside her husband in many aspects of the ministry. She worked with the youth, taught the mentally handicap, was a houseparent with handicap men, and was a member of the Women's Missionary Union. Above all, her gift to family and all she knew and met, was her unconditional love. She is survived by one son, David A. Hoover of Hot Springs; one daughter, Judy J. Duggan of Pearcy; seven grandchildren, David A. Schultz and his wife, Erica of Springtown, Texas, Joseph Schultz and his wife, Brandi of Pearcy, Steven Duggan, Seth Duggan, and John Duggan all of Pearcy, Dustin Hoover and Dalton Hoover both of Hot Springs; seven great-grandchildren, Lauren Schultz, Hannah Schultz, Savannah Schultz, J.T. Humphrey, Jeremiah Schultz, Jacob Schultz, and Christian Scharff. Praise and worship services will be held at 12 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010 at the Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Fortner, Rev. Mike Prince and Rev. Bill Carter officiating, music will be by Tina Cooper. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday in the Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until service time at the church. Pallbearers will be David Schultz, Joseph Schultz, Dalton Hoover, Dustin Hoover, Steven Duggan, Seth Duggan, John Duggan, and James Thomas Humphrey. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremiah Schultz, Jacob Schultz, Lauren Schultz, Hannah Schultz, Savannah Schultz, Roger Kalas, Zachary Kalas and Christian Sharff.
