Leon McDaniel

Leon McDaniel of Mount Ida. Our beloved Daddy passed away on April 17, 2011 at the age of 85. He was born November 2, 1925 to the late Rube and Geneva Hern McDaniel of Nimrod, Ark. he was a Christian and a member of Mt. Ida First Baptist Church. Daddy was a Navy Veteran of WWll serving on the US George Clymer in the South Pacific. He was preceded in death by his parents, twin brother Louie McDaniel, brother Taye McDaniel, sister Pauline Edwards. He is survived by his wife of almost 65 years. Joyce McDaniel of Mt. Ida, two daughters, Linda (Terry) Matyskiela of Little Rock and Karen (Jim) Miller of Forrest City, one granddaughter, Chrissy ( Johnny ) Midkiff of Little Rock, two great-granddaughters, Katie and Kayla Midkiff of Little Rock, one sister-in-law, Annie McDaniel of Perryville, Ark., one niece, three nephews and numerous great-nieces and nephews. Services will be graveside at Nimrod Cemetery in Nimrod, Arkansas, Friday April 22, 2011 at 11 a.m. under the direction of Thornton Funeral Home in Mount Ida, Ark.
