Floyd Wayne Snyder

Floyd Wayne Snyder, 64, of Ethel died Monday, April 18, 2011. He was born December 6, 1946 in Stuttgart to Henry Daniel Snyder and Dorothy Eason Paxton. He was a lock operator for the Army Corp of Engineer and a proud member of the NRA. Survivors include: wife, Cathlene Vansandt Synder, son, Daniel Snyder of DeWitt, daughter, Vicky Walter of Pine Bluff, step-daughter Lorili Butcher Ozbun of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, step-son, Newell Butcher of Flatonia, Texas, mother and step-father, Dorothy and Jack Paxton of DeWitt, brothers, Lloyd Snyder and Danny Snyder of St. Charles, Tony Snyder of DeWitt, Eddie Snyder, Houma, La., grandchildren, Taylor Snyder Thompson of White Hall, Connie Snyder and Emily West of DeWitt, Garrett Ozbun, Sydney Ozbun and Paul Blake Ozbun of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Elizabeth and Evan Butcher of Flatonia, Texas. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Snyder. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, at St. Charles Baptist Church by Essex Funeral Home, DeWitt, with burial at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday at the church. Memorials may be made to Gideon's International or the American Cancer Society.
