Hope (Townsend) Jessup

Hope (Townsend) Jessup, 92, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., former 47-year resident of Conway, Ark., died Thursday, April 21, 2011. She was born April 9, 1919, in the Liberty Hill community, near Dierks, Ark., a daughter of the late Andrew Custer and Ada Sylvesta (Bedwell) Townsend. Mrs. Jessup was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin LeRoy Jessup Sr.; five brothers and three sisters. She was of the United Methodist faith and was a home maker. She is survived by her sons, Ervin L. Jessup Jr. and wife Elizabeth "Boots" of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Timothy L. Jessup of Little Rock, Ark.; grandsons, Michael Joaquin Jessup and Tracy Alan Jessup of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; great-grandchildren, Morgan Alexandria Jessup of Pine Bluff, Ark., Hunter Ryan Jessup of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; nieces, Greselda Pitts, Marilyn Dawn Cogburn, Marie Stokes, Clara Carlson, Josephine Pates, Juanita Richardson; nephews, J. W. Gilbert and Charles Mathis. Funeral will be 3 p.m., Tuesday, April 26, 2011, in the chapel of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home. Reverend Charles Murry will officiate.
