Reverend Charles H. "Hub" Huckaby, 77, of White Hall, Arkansas died Sunday, April 24. Born February 24, 1934 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, a son of the late Reverend Ray Oliver Huckaby and Vera Bell Tucker Huckaby, he grew up near Pine Bluff, attending Linwood schools. He married Patsy Tucker in 1953 in Pine Bluff. Mrs. Huckaby died in 2007. As a young man he farmed with his family, then moved to Chicago, Illinois where he was an ironworker and member of the International Ironworker's Union Local #1 in Chicago for 42 years. Reverend Huckaby traveled back and forth from Arkansas to the Midwest for many years to construction and building sites, continuing his ironworker career. A Pentecostal minister for over 50 years, he began that career by evangelizing on the streets of Chicago. He returned to Pine Bluff in 1975 where he became pastor of the East Side United Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ. He served as a board member and Presbyter of the Arkansas District, UPC, Section Two. He made two pilgrimages to Jerusalem. He was currently a member of Cornerstone Apostolic Church. He continued preaching until his retirement in 2007. He also was a restaurant owner in Pine Bluff, Conway, and Little Rock. Survivors include two sons, Michael Huckaby of Arlington, Texas and Keith Huckaby of White Hall; four daughters, Angela Jianotti, Lisa South, and Chonnie Wrinkle of White Hall, and Mary Johnson of Searcy, Arkansas; brothers, Ray A. Huckaby of Conway, Arkansas and Jimmy Don Huckaby of Pine Bluff; sisters, Betty Ruth Thomas of Little Rock and Mildred Callaway of Heber Springs; seventeen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren. Services are Friday, April 29, 11 a.m., Cornerstone Apostolic Church (9500 Dollarway Road, White Hall).Interment follows in Graceland Cemetery.
