Deirl Arvel Marshall, 84, died Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at his home. Mr. Marshall was born July 1, 1926, in Humphrey to Raymond and Edna Eirvin Marshall. A Navy veteran, he served during World War II. He was one of the leaders in founding the Grand Prairie Rural Distribution District, and served on the ASCS board for nine years and PCA board for three years. He attended Bayou Meto Assembly of God Church. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Amy Tedford. Survivors are his wife of 63 years, Myrina Lockhart Marshall; sons, Jackie Marshall (Norma) of Humphrey and Eddie Marshall (Linda) of Austin, Texas; daughter, Jenny Marshall Shipley (Larry) of Sherwood; sisters, Nettie Jean Roberts of Humphrey, Joy Alice Marshall of Sherwood and Mercedes Houser of England; six grandchildren, Melissa Thomas (Gary), Wendy Evans (Mark), Jeremy Marshall, Jennifer Baker (Travis), and Marshall and Megan Shipley; and six great-grandchildren, Matthew and Madison Thomas, Courtney Lee, Nathan and Heather Evans and Claire Baker.
