Cletis Cole Buie

Cletus Cole Buie of Prattsville, Arkansas was born May 24, 1931 in Prattsville , the son of the late Thomas Monroe and Mary Pearl Stuckey Buie. He was a member of Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church in Prattsville and was retired from the United States Marine Corps having fought in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars during his 20 years of service. Mr. Buie died Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at Odyssey Hospice in Palm Desert, California at the age of 80. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Curtis Buie, Eunice Earnest, Addie Mae Earnest, Odessa Robbins, Clayton Buie and Billy Joe Buie. Survivors: wife, Lenna Louise Bilbrae Buie of Palm Springs, California; Daughters, Rhonda Bradley of Little Rock, Tammy Kennedy of Rogers, Ark., Dawn Borsch of Bentonville, Ark., and Cindy Habibipour of Palm Springs, Calif.; Stepdaughter, Linda Peterman of Fort Valley, Ga.; brothers, Thomas Buie of Poyen, and Charles Buie of Prattsville; sister, Lavoie Shoptaw of Sheridan; nine grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 4 p.m., Saturday, August 6, 2011 at Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church in Prattsville with Bro. Don Goodman officiating. Burial will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery in Prattsville with military honors. Visitation will also be Saturday, from 3-4 p.m., at the church, prior to the service.
