Mr. Howard Hill Jr., 92, of 1409 Ray Street, Texarkana, Arkansas, passed at St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana, Texas on August 4, 2011. He was ill for a brief period. To this union were born two sons. He is survived by Prof. Howard D. Hill (spouse Dr. Clemmie F. Hill) of Orangeburg, South Carolina and Edward E. Hill of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. Mr. Hill attended the public schools of Texarkana, Arkansas and Kansas Wesleyan University. He is also a graduate of Bishop College Trade School and the Southwest Technical Institute in Building Code Administration. Mr. Hill also earned the L.L.B. degree from LaSalle Extension University of Chicago, Illinois. He is a World War II veteran (U.S. Army). He was an independent contractor for 27 years; a Realtor; served a stint with the Arkansas Housing Authority (Texarkana), and worked at Johnson Controls until his 1985 retirement. He was also a great checker player. His funeral will be held at the Lyles Funeral Home Chapel, 3809 E. Broad St., Texarkana, Arkansas at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 11. Interment will be in Fair Haven Cemetery, Texarkana, Arkansas. Arrangements are under the direction of Lyles Funeral, Inc., Texarkana, Ark. Online registration is at www.lylesfuneralhomeinc.com.
