Grady Jean Jones

Grady Jean Hollis Jones, 82, of Thornton, died Friday, Aug. 12, 2011. Mrs. Jones was born in Thornton, Ark. on Nov. 18, 1928 to the late Grady and Effie Mae Sullivan Hollis. Mrs. Jones was a retired mail carrier for the United States Postal Service, a member of the First Baptist Church of Thornton and a charter member of Beta Sigma Phi Zeta Theta Chapter. She was survived by her two daughters, Brenda Kay Mays of Fordyce, Ark., Suzette Crutchfield and her husband George of Fordyce, Ark.; two grandchildren, Meagan Crutchfield of Little Rock, Ark., Chad Crutchfield of Hot Springs, Ark.; two great-grandchildren, Adiele and Marley Crutchfield; a sister in-law, Jean Jones of Fordyce, Ark.; and two special friends, Carol Livingston and Ashley Cotter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Jones. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15, 2011 at the Benton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Means Cemetery near Hampton, with the Rev. Bobby George and Rev. Eddie Elrod officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home in Fordyce. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.
