Mary Alice Hinton, 83, of Mulberry, formerly of Hazen, Arkansas died Saturday, August 27th, 2011 at Davis Life Care in Pine Bluff, of complications from Alzheimer's disease. She was born January 13, 1928 in Ozark, Arkansas to the late Oscar Ewell Adams and Wardna Ruth Burcham Adams. On November 24, 1945 she married Herbert Hinton in Mulberry Park and moved to Hazen. She was a member of the First Christian Church and member of the Order of Eastern Star in Hazen, serving as Worthy Grand Matron in the early 1970's. Mrs. Hinton was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Herbert Hinton, a daughter, Karon Gelene Hinton, her Parents, two brothers: Donald Adams and Harold McCallister, and one sister, Nina Sosebee. She is survived by five daughters: Nyna Oshel (Tom) of Mountain Pine, Linda Black (Dickje) of Pine Bluff, Vickey McCallister (Mike) of Spring, Texas, Robin Raper of Carlisle, and Theresa Garland (Kevin) of Little Rock; one don: Herbert (Butch) Hinton Jr. of Mulberry, two sisters: Doris Selvidge of Hartman, Pat Adams of Clarksville; three brothers: Claude McCallister of Waterford, California, Ewell Adams of Borger, Texas, and Lonnie Adams of Gladstone, Mo., 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be at 6 p.m., Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at Shaffer Funeral Home in Ozark. Services will be Wednesday, August 31st, at 2 p.m., at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Hight Cemetery under the direction of Shaffer funeral home.
