H.C. Cooney

H.C. Cooney, 81, died peacefully November 29th, after a period of illness. He was the forth born of 12 siblings. At an early age he accepted Christ in his life and joined St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church where he remained a faithful member until his health declined. He was preceded in death by his parents; Alexander and Gertrude Cooney, his loving wife, Leola Walker Cooney, his oldest brother, Elder Andrew Cooney, two sons; Johnny and Walter Walker and a daughter, Pamela Williamson. He leaves to cherish his memory a son, Rev. Carl (Kim) Cooney of Jacksonville, two daughters; June (Rollie) Richardson of Sherwood and Vernestine (Derrick) Golden of Arlington, Texas, four brothers; Robert, Claudie (Mae), Clarence and Luther Cooney, six sisters; Thelma Cannon, Ardia Briggs, Addie Willis, Earline Cooney, Louella Cooney and Annie Cooney, 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Lonoke at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011.
