Clifton Eugene Hull

CLIFTON EUGENE HULL, age 91, of North Little Rock, passed away on Friday, Dec. 2, 2011. The son of Sidney and Mary Hull, Clifton was born on Tuesday, June 8, 1920, in North Little Rock, Ark. He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife Sylvia Naomi Hull. He is survived by three nieces, Patsy Geyer (Winston), of North Little Rock, Dorothy Barger, of Houston, Texas, and Audrey Hull, of Foley, Ala.; in addition to one nephew, Sherrell Chambers (Pat), of North Little Rock. During his business career, Clifton worked as a draftsman and outdoor recreational planner with the U.S. Corp. of Engineers. He retired after 20 years service where he was instrumental in the development of the Arkansas River for commercial navigation. He was a member of the National Railway Historical Society, and in 1969, Clifton became a charter member of the Arkansas Railroad Club. Clifton was also the author of Shortline Railroads of Arkansas, published by U of O Press, Norman, Okla., plus authored several other historical articles. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 5, 2011, at Roller-Owens Funeral Home Chapel, 5509 JFK Blvd, North Little Rock, Ark., 72116, 501-791-7400. Private interment.
