Geraldine (Armstrong) Johnson left to be with the Lord on the 4th of December 2011 at age 75 after a long fight with cancer. She was born May 14, 1936 to Ila Mae Armstrong Stanley and the late Wilbert Cicero Armstrong. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Heber Springs. She is survived by her husband, Col. Howard Rondal Johnson of 54 years, one daughter Rosemarie (Johnson) Didier and her husband Mike, one son Clifton Marcus Johnson and six grandchildren, Tiffany Marie Arnold and her husband Mike, 1st Lt. Jeremy Michael Didier, Sara Marie (Johnson) Moore and her husband John, Hannah Renee Johnson, Adam Marcus Johnson and Mary Faith Johnson. She is survived by her mother, Ila Mae Stanley, brother, Clyde Armstrong, sister, Mildred Armstrong Ballard, half-brother, Jimmy and Ricky Stanley, two great-grandchildren, Lilly Beth Moore and Bryce Lewis Arnold. She was preceded in death by step-father, Clarence Stanley, father, Cicero Armstrong and one brother, Kenneth Armstrong. She worked in the Purchasing and Contracting Office in 1954 when Blytheville Air Force Base was reopened and later served in the Information Office at the Base in 1974 to 1978. She was always active in crafts, especially painting woodcrafts and old landscape paintings. She was an avid flower gardener and even worked in a flower and landscaping business. Throughout the Vietnam War and the Cold War she cared for the family during long years of deployment and alert duty separations by her husband. Above all she was dedicated to her family and church. She sang in the choir, worked with the children in crafts at Vacation Bible School. She also served in the Church in "outreach" and "inreach" ministries. Funeral services will be Thursday, December 8, 2011 at 11 a.m. with a visitation beginning at 10 a.m. prior to the service. It will be officiated by Rev. J.R. Debusk.
