Jimmy V. Greenfield Sr., 74, passed away on December 4, 2011 at his home surrounded in love by his family. On Monday, November 1, 1937, near Batesville a baby boy had just made his way into the family of Marvin Taft and Marion Koller Greenfield. He would be given the name Jimmy Vonzell and was welcomed home by his sister, Coleen and brother, Charlie. This family was soon saddened by the loss of their wife and mother, Marion. Later, Marvin would meet and marry Chloe and this family added two new sisters, Carolyn and Sandy. Jimmy grew up in the Little Rock area and graduated in 1955 from Little Rock High School which is known as Little Rock Central High School today. He served in the United States Army and worked with his Dad, Marvin in building houses. In 1968 Jimmy went into business for himself and was a successful home builder. But his love for woodworking sent him another direction and in 1981 Greenfield Millworks was born. He started in a small rented building in North Little Rock which he soon out grew and built the business on Count Massie Road where it is today. As Hans Christian Anderson once said "A Man's Life is a Story told by God." Jimmy's 74 years on this earth was a story filled with tears, love and laughter. He experienced the love and companionship of his wife Karen, he watched his son become a man, his daughters become beautiful women and learned what "Grand" meant in grandchildren. On December 4, 2011 Jimmy's story on earth ended but in the words of his 7 year old granddaughter "We should all be happy PaPaw is in Heaven, where there is no cancer or pain." Jimmy is survived by: his wife, Karen Greenfield of Little Rock, son, Jimmy V. (Jay) Greenfield Jr. and wife Tammy of Little Rock, daughters, Janice Greenfield Carter and husband John of Greenbrier, Jennifer Greenfield Bailey and husband Tom of Royalton, Minn., step-daughter, Lisa Orr, one brother, Charles Greenfield and wife Helen of North Little Rock, three sisters, Colleen Dobbs and husband Olin of Austin, Ark., Carolyn and husband Bob Lamb of Puerta Vallarta Mexico, Sandy Deitz of Little Rock, and six grandchildren, Megan Greenfield, Madison Greenfield, Jimmy V. (Trey) Greenfield, III all of Little Rock, Logan Bailey, Ryan Bailey and Peighton Bailey all of Royalton, Minn. and a host of nieces and nephews, dear friend Julie Pozza and his babies Sampson and Delilah. A very special thank you to his care giver and our angel Brenda Riggins, Dr. Marrianne Harrington, and all that helped him during this fight. Visitation will be at Roller Chenal Funeral Home (501) 224-8300 on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Asbury United Methodist Church with Reverend Nathan Kilbourne and Reverend Brian Fink officiating.
