Louise Griggs Rogers, age 89, of Hot Springs Village, formerly of Rison, passed from this earth on December 4, 2011. She was born June 8, 1922 in Leslie, Arkansas to loving parents, Jewell Bradford and Orville Carroll Griggs. The family, including a younger brother, Orville Carroll Griggs Jr., resided in Des Arc and North Little Rock before relocating to Oklahoma in 1934. Louise was a graduate of Coalgate High School. After graduation, she returned to Arkansas, met and married William A. Rogers. Louise was a retired Social Worker with the Arkansas Department of Human Services. After retirement, she became an Emergency Medical Technician and was a volunteer for Cleveland County Ambulance Service. She was a charter member of the Cleveland County Historical Society and a member of the Rison Garden Club. She served as a past Worthy Matron of The Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of Union Chapter. Louise was a lifelong Methodist and while residing in Rison, was a member of the Rison United Methodist Church and Wesleyanna Circle. At the time of her death, she was a member of the Christ of the Hills United Methodist Church in Hot Springs Village. Louise possessed a passion for reading, an enjoyment of travel and a deep appreciation for nature. In addition to her parents, brother and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, William Alan Rogers. Mrs. Rogers is survived by her children, Jo Anne Acre of Hot Springs Village, Paula Branch of Hot Springs, Mark Rogers (Janie) of Russellville, Scott Rogers (Rose) of Catoosa, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Trey Branch of Hope, Luke and Josh Rogers of Benton, Jason and Jacob Rogers of Tulsa, Brandy Phillips of Rison, Lindsey Dow of Hampton; great-grandchildren, Joe Branch, Tylan Rogers, Jared Wilson and Brody Dow; two nieces, Pam Livingston and Debbie Neckvatal of Shreveport, Louisiana. Services are scheduled for Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 2 p.m., at Rison United Methodist Church with Reverend Don Johnson officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. preceding the service. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rison United Methodist Church, P.O.
