Francis N. Lewis, 75, of North Little Rock, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2011. She was born September 2, 1936, at Pangburn, Arkansas to Linis and Evelyn Lewis. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Sammy Pollard. She is survived by two sisters, Nai Hooks (Gene) of Little Rock, Rachel Davis (Derrell) of Bryant and one brother Jack Lewis (Sherry) of Clinton, and one brother in law, Odell Pollard (Imogene) of Searcy; her nieces, Laura Roussel (Scott) of Searcy, Karen Hooks of Little Rock, Cheryl Lewis of Johnson, Paula Gray (Bill) of North Little Rock, Cassie McCarty (Jerry) of Greers Ferry, Brandi Lewis of Rogers, and Tracy Davis of Bryant; her nephews Kim Hooks (Lori) of Alexander, Mark Pollard (Dana) of Nashville, Tennessee, Toby Lewis of Barrow, AK, Brad Davis (Christi) of Benton; five great-nephews, Blake Roussel (Amanda), Jordan Krebs, Hunter Croswell, Landon Gray, Ben Davis; two great-great-nephews and one great-great-niece and a number of step great-nieces and nephews as well as many cousins and friends, all who will miss her greatly. Fran loved growing up in the small town of Pangburn where she attended the Pangburn Methodist Church. She attended the University of Central Arkansas where she obtained both her Bachelors in Physical Education and her Masters Degree. She went on to teach and coach for 39 years in the North Little Rock School System where she served as the drill team and cheerleader sponsor for many of those years. She enjoyed watching sports, especially the Razorbacks, and working in her yard. She loved animals and was an avid horseback rider in her early years. However, the joy of her life was her family and she loved family gathering and holidays, especially Christmas. Memorials may be made to Pangburn United Methodist Church, 902 Church Street, Pangburn, Arkansas 72124. The memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, December 8, 2011 at North Little Rock Funeral Home.
