Susan Porter-Levy, 56, died peacefully after a courageous battle from breast cancer, on Monday, December 5th with family by her side. Dr. Porter-Levy, a clinical neuropsychologist, received her B.S. in Psychobiology from Southwestern at Memphis (Rhodes College) her Masters in Clinical Psychology from Murray State University, and her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from FIT in Melbourne, FL and a 1972 graduate of Hall High School. She was a psychologist in private practice in McKinney, Texas for the past several years where she was loved by all of her clients for her caring spirit and spiritual intellect. Susan also moderated a support group for cancer survivors teaching them how to embrace their illness and find lessons that needed to be learned. She lived her life her way, with deliberate passion. Preceding her in death was her father, Dr. William I. Porter, step-father H. Price Roark Mother-in-law Nancy Levy, and brother-in-law, David K. Rayburn, She is survived by her mother, Jane Porter Roark, husband Dr. Raymond L. Levy, daughter, Rachel Hannah Levy, sisters, Dr. Cynthia Porter Rickert (Dr. Vaughn), nephews Jeffrey, 2nd Lt. Ryan, and Mason; Catherine Porter Rayburn, nephew Lucas Rayburn and niece, Amy Rayburn; brother Michael Porter (Tamara), nieces, Channing, Mallory, and nephew, Ethan Porter. Father-in-law, Laurence Levy; brothers-in-law, John (Judi) Levy, nephew, Bram, niece, Shana; Allen (Beth) Levy, nieces Laura and Cara. Step-sisters, Sally Bowen (Mike); nephew, Ben and niece Katie Bowen; and Anne B. Roark. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society, SPCA, or a charity of your choice. The family will receive friends during a visitation at the Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.) Thursday, December 8th, from 6-8 p.m. A memorial service will be held at the Unity Church of Dallas, on Friday, December 16th from 6-7 p.m. Arrangements by Little Rock Funeral Home, (501)224-2200.
