Hattie Belote Johnson, age 100, of Jacksonville, widow of Virgil Lee Johnson, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, December 6, 2011. She was born February 1, 1911 in Enola, Arkansas to the late Homer Belote and Annie Belle Farris Belote. Hattie was preceded in death by brothers Archie and Buddy Belote. She was a member of Ebenezer Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her sons; Alton Johnson and his wife Shirley Freeman Johnson of North Little Rock, Dr. Tom Johnson and his wife Judith Jurkens Johnson of El Dorado, a grandson: James C. Johnson and his wife Tanya Cansdale Johnson; granddaughters: Janel Johnson Joyner and her husband Gary, Kimberly Johnson Forester and her husband Lawrence, Julie Johnson Nolan and her husband John Paul, Dr. Jill Johnson Fussell and her husband Stephen, Dr. Jennifer Johnson Paul and her husband Dr. Eric Paul; great-grandchildren: Amber Joyner Bayse and her husband Jeremy, Ashlyn Joyner Spickes and her husband Gary, Dr. Kristen Forester, Dr. Priscilla Forester, Heather Forester, Hannah Johnson, Daniel Johnson, Lanier Fussell, Kate Fussell, Madeline Nolan, Lucy Paul, and Hattie Paul. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, December 12, 2011 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home with Howard Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Cabot. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. The family is grateful for neighborhood caregivers: Thomas Ford, Richard Robertson, Catherine and Bill Roberts, Jim Morris, Tom Salmon, Ronda, and Andy Kew. The staff of Sherwood Nursing Home is to be commended for the loving, professional care given to Mrs. Johnson during the final months of her life. In lieu of flowers the family wishes memorials be made to Searcy Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 100 East Race Street, Searcy, Arkansas 72143.
