Jessie A. Rushing Houston

Jessie A. Rushing Houston, age 100, of McCrory, passed away on Dec. 8, 2011 at the Woodruff County Nursing Home. Mrs. Houston was born in the small community of Grays, Ark., on March 5, 1911 to Lucian and Mamie Angelo. She leaves to mourn her passing one son, Robert L. Rushing of Little Rock; two daughters, Betty Gardner of Patterson and Jeanette Walker (Frank) of Rogers; one son-in-law, Tommy C. Burrow of Warren; grandchildren, Richard Carter Gardner, Scott Walker, Elizabeth Latham and 10 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Houston is preceded in death by her husbands, Roy Lee Rushing and Curtis Houston; one brother, L.C. Angelo Jr.; one daughter, Patsy Burrow; two grandchildren, John Lee Gardner Jr. and Stanley Lee Guest. Visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 11 at 1 p.m. at Rhodes and Son Funeral Home McCrory Chapel with burial to follow in Augusta Memorial Park with a 2:30 p.m., graveside service on Sunday.
