Marjorie Black

MARJORIE BLACK, the seventh child of nine siblings was born March 22, 1933, in Clarkdale, Ark., (St. Frances County) to Homer and Rae Williams. Marjorie attended school at Forrest City and gave 20 years of committed service to Forrest City School District. Marjorie was united in holy matrimony to Phillip Jones; to this union seven children were born. Marjorie later married George Black; to this union three children were born. Marjorie was introduced to and accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of Reverend R.B. Bland at the Madison Light Baptist Church of Madison, Ark., and later joined the Pentecostal Church of Christ under the leadership of Bishop J. Delano Ellis in Cleveland, Ohio. She began her eternal rest on Dec. 8, 2011, at the age of 78 where she was joined by her parents, two children; Cassandra, Debra, and four siblings. She leaves to cherish her memories, four sons, Phillip (Shelia) Jones, Larry (Anita) Jones, Calvin (Toni) Jones, all of Cleveland, Ohio, and George Black Jr., of Houston, Texas; four daughters, Eloise (Bernard) Lemon, of Cleveland, Ohio, Elizabeth (Charles) Blake and Annette Winfrey, of Little Rock, Ark., and Joyce (Jessie) Parchman of Arlington, Texas; two sisters, T.W. Moorehead, of Forrest City, Ark., and Evelyn Tubbs, of Oceanside, Calif.; two brothers, James Williams, of Jolliet, Ill., and Homer Williams, of Milwaukee, Wisc.; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a treasure trove of other loving family members and friends. Family hour will be held Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011, from 6 p.m. - 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011, 11 a.m., at Second Baptist Church 1709 John Barrow Rd., Little Rock, Ark. Services entrusted to Premier Funeral Home, 1518 S.
