Vera Mitchell Meins

Vera Mitchell Meins, formerly of Marianna passed away on December 10, 2011 at age 87. She was born December 12, 1923 in Belleville, Arkansas to Herbert Lee and Edna Lee Parson Mitchell. She married Ray Hays Mitchell, and together they operated Mitchell Grocery Store in Marianna. Following Ray's death, Vera married Harold Meins. Vera is survived by daughters Sue Parker and husband Dwayne of Jackson, Tenn.; and Janelle Rubly of Forrest City, Ark.; stepson Randy Meins of Dallas Texas; grandchildren Kelly Greene, Carl, Paul and Pete Rubly; Susan Crain; Danny and Brian Payne; and Georgia Kiser; twenty great-grandchildren; one sister, Clara Hoyle of Roseville, Calif.; and one brother, Bill Mitchell of Port Orange, Fla. Loved ones preceding her in death were: her first husband, Ray Hays Mitchell; second husband Harold Meins; daughters Janet Mitchell and Laura Payne; three sisters; one brother; and one grandson, Bret Parker. Services will be held Thursday, December 15 at 2 p.m. at First Christian Church of Marianna, with burial following in Marianna Memorial Park.
