Mary Avants Lenox

Mary Avants Lenox, 71, passed away December 14th, 2011. The daughter of Aubrey and Floy McAlister Avants, Mary was born October 12th, 1940 and grew up in Jacksonville, where she graduated high school in 1958. She married Joe Lenox in 1962. Mary retired from Civil Service after 25 years of service in 2002. Retirement brought Mary home to Arkansas, where she volunteered with her sister at the North Metro Medical Center Gift Shop and enjoyed shopping with her fun-loving friends. Mary's lifelong love for animals and rescue efforts brought her great happiness. Mary is survived by her brother, Aubrey Avants, sister Floy Ott (Harold), husband Joe Lenox, son Joey Lenox (Candy), daughter Terry Cox (William), three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
