Joe T. Dunn

Joe T. Dunn, 86, of Hampton died Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Ouachita County Medical Center in Camden. He was born December 19, 1924 in Delhi, Arkansas. He was a retired business owner and an Army World War II veteran. Joe T. was a political activist and community leader. He is preceded in death by his parents, Truitt Dunn and Adrian Reddin Dunn; wife, Sylvia Laverne Proffitt Dunn; two brothers, Horace Dunn and James Dunn. He is survived by two daughters, Sylvia Jo (Ted) Roark of Hampton, Kay (Larry) Davis of Hampton; three brothers, Vernon "Red" Dunn of Hampton, Carroll Wayne Dunn of Little Rock, William Dunn of Branson, Mo.; two sisters, Ida Johnson of Little Rock, Louise Silen of Hampton; three grandchildren, Dr. Tim Stokes of Tacoma, Wash., Chad (Pam) Davis of Harrell, Michelle (Wade) Blann of Hampton; five great-grandchildren, Zac Blann of Hampton, Jackson and Grace Stokes of Tacoma, Wash., Aidan and Brogan Davis of Harrell. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church of Hampton with Rev. Eddie Raines, Rev. Dell Carr and Rev. Buddy Hamner officiating. Burial at Dunn Cemetery.
