Eloise Hope Ray

Eloise Hope Ray of Sheridan, Arkansas was born May 29, 1926, in Prattsville, Arkansas, daughter of the late Clifton and Sadie Smith Hope. She was an English and Social Studies teacher in the Sheridan School District for many years. During her life, she touched the lives of so many people, but her greatest joy in life was the relationship that she had with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She Loved the Lord with all her heart. Mrs. Ray died Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock at the age of 85. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, H.W. Ray; Brothers, Boyce Hope, Oscar Hope, Preston Hope; sisters, Bonnie Wilkerson and Murline Whitfield. Survivors: son, Mark and wife Vickie Ray; daughters, Darla and husband Rabbit Jackson; Sheila and husband Orville Emerson all of Sheridan; brother, Russell Hope of Livington, Texas; sisters, Ruth Sealy of Hot Springs, Maxine Brittain of Plano, Texas and Genevieve Thompson of Conroe, Texas; five grandchildren, Casidy Jackson, Tanner Ray, Hayden Ray, Delaina and husband Shane Harris and Daniel Vanlandingham; one great-granddaughter, Anna Harris as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be 3 p.m., Friday, December 23, 2011 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Michael Walton and Bro. Gary Copeland officiating. Burial will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery in Prattsville. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until service time,prior to the service.
