Juanita B. Turner, 97, of Jonesboro, formerly of Marked Tree, died Tuesday at Craighead County Nursing Center. Born in Deckerville, Mrs. Turner lived much of her life in Marked Tree before moving to Jonesboro in 1988. She was a retired bookkeeper for businesses in Marked Tree and was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church in Marked Tree. She is presently a member of Nettleton United Methodist Church where she is a member of United Methodist Women and active in the Quilters Club. Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, David Alvin Turner, and by a brother and two sisters. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law: Linda and Ed Wiseman of Jonesboro; two sons and daughters-in-law: David and Betty Turner of Harris Brake Lake, Arkansas, and Jim and Jan Turner of Atlanta; two sisters: Marie Steele of Little Rock and Johnnye Seals of Memphis; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 11 a.m. in Nettleton United Methodist Church with Rev. Harmon Whitehurst officiating. Burial will follow in Marked Tree cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
