Bettye Sue Jennings

Bettye Sue (Smith) Jennings, 76, passed away peacefully at Baptist Hospital – North Little Rock on Dec. 20, 2011 after a long battle with dementia, Alzheimer's and other health issues. Bettye was born on Sept. 12, 1935 to the late Luther and Lucinda Smith of Grassy Cove, Tenn. She is preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Glen Jennings. Left to cherish her memory is her son, Glenn Jennings of Sherwood, Ark., daughter and son-in-law, Renate and Dwight Scott of Cabot, granddaughters, Melissa Berry (Brett) of Benton and Jenni McArthur (Matt) of North Little Rock, great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Grant, Carter and Jillain Berry and Joshua McArthur. For all who knew Bettye, she was a little spit fire of a lady with a large generous heart. She recognized need in others and helped all she could. Betty could do just about anything. She was an amazing seamstress and crafter. She had a love for gardening, especially cactur, collected Barbies and baby dolls and read every day until she couldn't anymore. She loved playing cards and doing crossword puzzles at her kitchen table with family and friends. Bettye fed the squirrels, birds and even a possum.
