James William Fielding

James William Fielding, 83, of Jacksonville died Friday, Dec. 23, 2011. He was born Aug. 16, 1928 in Cotter to the late Henry Rhodes and Faye Tipton Fielding. Mr. Fielding served his country in the United States Air Force during Korea and Vietnam and retired after 23 years of service. After his military career, Mr. Fielding worked as an agent for Mutual of Omaha. He was of the Baptist faith, a fantastic husband, a great dad and loving grandfather. Mr. Fielding is survived by his wife, Julia Fielding; his sons, Robert Fielding and his wife Sharon of Jacksonville and Kenneth Fielding and his wife Susan of Alexandria, Va.; his grandchildren, Laura Springer and her husband Stuart of Benton, Linda Fielding of Little Rock, Katherine Fielding of Alexandria, Va. and Kristen Polacek and her husband David of Conway; his great-grandchildren, Jude Springer and Caroline Polacek and a host of other family and friends. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 26, 2011 in the chapel of Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home with Reverend Robert Fielding officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park. A time of visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions.
