Marjorie "Mimi" Bedford, 90, passed away peacefully on Dec. 22, 2011. She was born on Feb. 16, 1921, in Memphis, Tenn., and has lived in Little Rock since 1993. Mimi was the epitome of a tried and true Southern lady. Dainty in stature, her faith was fierce, and she loved her God, her family and her friends with all of her heart. Whether her feet found her dancing the foxtrot or her hands decided to whip up the best pecan pie this side of the Mississippi, captivating an eager audience was a regular occurrence. You just couldn't help but be drawn in by the warmth of her spirit and you would never leave her without feeling better, lighter and loved. Ever the perfect hostess of a good time, her soft and smooth voice would transport you to a time when gentility and hospitality were paramount. She was a woman of great character and integrity and was so full of fun! Mimi spread life and love and laughter all over the Southern states and hers is the legacy of a respected, revered and absolutely lovely lady. She is preceded in death by her husband, Morgan R. Bedford; parents, Susie and Barney Mauldin; daughter, Terry Massey and sister, Nell Miller. She is survived by her children, Dr. James Young Massey of Mountain Home, Helen Bedford Anderton of Little Rock, and Virginia Bedford Andersen of Fayetteville; her eight grandchildren, Wesley Massey Hill, Mitchell Massey, Betsy Massey Walker, Trent Andersen, Kerry Andersen, Eric Anderton, Craig Anderton and Ashley Anderton; 11 great-grandchildren and niece, Lisa Miller. A family graveside service with be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011 at Elmwood Cemetery in Memphis, Tenn. A memorial celebration will be held at 1 p.m., on Jan. 7, 2012 at Fellowship Bible Church in Little Rock. Arrangements are with Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 501-224-8300.
