Bobby L. Thomas

Bobby L. Thomas, 68, (Retired Lieutenant of Homicide and Supervisor of the Crime Scene and Search Unit at Little Rock Police Department) left this world peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 24, 2011. He was born in Camden, Ark. on Aug. 31, 1943 to Agnes Gage Thomas and the late Lloyd Penn Thomas. Bobby later married his childhood sweetheart, Roberta Spickes on Sept. 4, 1961. He served with the Little Rock Police Department over 42 years. Because of his selfless dedication to his professions, he received numerous honors and awards from the Rotary Clubs of Little Rock, the Greater Chambers of Commerce of Little Rock, the Little Rock Police Department and others. He was a member of the Iron Springs Masonic Lodge in Little Rock, Ark. He is survived by his wife, Roberta Spickes Thomas of Little Rock; daughters, Angela Thomas Sandage (husband Terry Don) of Benton, Ark. and Paula Thomas-Lee (husband Justin) of Woodstock, Ga.; son, Lloyd Allan Thomas (wife Emily) of Maumelle; his mother, Agnes Gage Thomas; brother, Billy Thomas; three sisters, Bevely Jackson, Betty Robertson of Camden, Ark. and Belinda Thomas of Rogers, Ark.; five grandsons, Andrew Sandage of Conway, Ark., Layne and Justin Hawkins of Maumelle, Ark. and Lucas and Ryder Lee of Woodstock, Ga. and his one granddaughter, Alicia Sandage of Benton, Ark. Funeral service, officiated by Pastor Ben Jones, will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011 at Bingham Road Baptist Church, 923 West Bingham Rd., Little Rock, Ark., 72206. Following the service he will be transported to Red Hill Cemetery, 781 Ouachita 22, Chidester, Ark. 71726 for interment at 2 p.m. A brief open casket will be offered at Red Hill Church before interment.
