Catherine Hartness Shockley

Catherine Hartness Shockley, 90, of Halley, Ark. passed away Saturday, Dec. 24, 2011 at her residence. She loved spending time with her family, loved to fish and play cards. She taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School, and was a long time member of Halley Baptist Church. Mrs. Shockley is preceded in death by her first husband, Claude Edward Hartness; second husband, T.W. Shockley; daughter, Barbara Allwhite and two infant children. She is survived by two sons, Edward "Ed" Hartness of Crossett, Ark., James Hartness of Wilmar, Ark.; a daughter, Sue Ricks of Halley, Ark.; son-in-law, David Allwhite of Vilionia, Ark.; two brothers, John Morris of Halley, Ark., Guy Morris of Japan; 13 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. Funeral service for Mrs. Shockley will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011 at Halley Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Donaldson, Rev. Andy Williams, and Rev. Gene Gregory officiating. Burial will follow at Trafalgar Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, Dec. 26, 2011 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Chapel and from 12 to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Halley Baptist Church.
