Alice G. Nelson, age 90, of Jacksonville went to be with her Lord on Christmas Day. She was born October 10, 1921 in Wilmington, North Carolina to the late, Bannister and Etta Mae Morton. On February 28, 1942 she married Charles Nelson at Camp LeJune, North Carolina. From 1944 until 1999 Alice and Charles lived in New York City. They moved to Jacksonville in 1999 to be near their daughter, Carol. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles in 2003; a son, Bryan Nelson in 2009; sister, Josephine Osborne and a brother, Johnny Morton. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Buddy Randall of Jacksonville; two grandchildren, Brett Nelson of Lonoke, Jenna and her husband, Derrick DePriest of Little Rock; three great-grandchildren, Jaelyn DePriest, Aubree Depriest and Ava Depriest, all of Little Rock. Funeral services will be 12 p.m., Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Ted Grove officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at the funeral home. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Mary Christopher for the loving care she provided for Mrs. Nelson. In addition, a special thanks and appreciation to the staff at Woodlands Hills for the kindness and compassion showed during her stay, especially to the CNA's, and nurses Theresa, Beth and Wanda.
