Laura Marie Simpson

Laura Marie Simpson, 83, passed away Monday evening, December 26, 2011, at the Baptist Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was born January 25, 1928, the eldest daughter of Carl and Laura M. Walter of St. Joseph, Missouri. On March 23, 1946, Laura married James H. Simpson, who preceded her in death on September 26, 2002. Laura and Jim settled in St. Joseph, Missouri where they lovingly raised their two children, Catherine and James. Laura thrived as a successful real estate professional as Jim operated service stations in St. Joseph, Missouri. The couple retired in 1988 to Lake of the Ozarks, where Laura became active as a Lady Elk for Lodge #2705 and in many community endeavors. Laura was saved early in life and was a member of the Wyatt Park Baptist Church in St. Joseph, Missouri, and Ozark Chapel Methodist Church in Laurie, Missouri. Laura leaves behind her daughter, Catherine Mueller and husband, Gregg, of Little Rock, Arkansas; son, James W. Simpson of Gravois Mills, Missouri; grandchildren, James Brent Simpson of Gravois Mills, Missouri, Ryan Mueller and his wife, Melanie, and children, Dean and Summer; Todd Mueller and his wife, Kay, and children, Grayson and Annalise; Piper Hall and her husband, James, and children, Jonathan and Noah Fox, all of Little Rock, Arkansas; brother-in-law, Earl Simpson and his wife, Mary, of Westport, Washington; and co-sister-in-law, Virginia Simpson of St. Joseph, Missouri. Her sister, Patty Simpson, preceded her in death. The family is holding private services.
