Hazel Teal Glass

Hazel Teal Glass of Little Rock died Saturday, January 29, 2011 at Hospice Home Care in Little Rock, Ark. She was born December 8, 1928 to Mary and Henry Teal in Rapides Parish, La. She graduated valedictorian in 1946 from Oak Hill High School in Elmer, La. She served 14 years as Desha County Treasurer in Arkansas City, Ark. and was a resident of Dumas, Ark. for 24 years. She retired to the Northwest Arkansas area in 1989. She was a three-time cancer survivor and was an active member of several Southern Baptist churches. She was preceded in death by her husband, A.D. Glass, parents, and brothers, Louis and R.P. Teal. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Penny and Steve Carter of Little Rock and two grandchildren, Andrew Carter of St. Louis, Mo. and Jennifer Carter of Fayetteville, Ark. A private graveside service will be held in Bentonville, Ark. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Alzheimer's Association or Ouachita Baptist University.
