J.C. Noggle

On a warm, humid summer afternoon, at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 25, 1926, J.C. Noggle was born in Vilonia, Arkansas to the late Joe and Mary Clifford Noggle. Eighty four (84) unique years later on the cooler dry winter morning of Saturday, January 29, 2011, J.C. Noggle of Vilonia, formerly of Florence, Ala.; Memphis, Tenn.; St. Augustine Beach, Fla.; Gainesville, Fla.; Beltsville, Md.; College Park, Md.; Springdale, Ark.; Marianna, Ark.; and Fayetteville, Ark., peacefully passed away on his own terms, as he also lived his entire life. JC's road to higher education spanned 19 years, commencing in 1946, and successfully resulted in an Associate Science Degree from Arkansas Tech in 1948, a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Arkansas in 1952, a Master's Degree from the University of Arkansas in 1953, and a Doctor of Philosophy, PhD, from the University of Maryland in 1965. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Mary Frances Henson Noggle, his brother Howard Noggle, his sister Viva Lee Barnes, and his sister-in-law, Mrs. Shelby (Betty) Noggle. He attended Old Liberty Baptist Church in the community of Old Liberty, Ark. Survivors are his wife Sue Beard Noggle of Vilonia, Ark.; son Bruce Noggle and wife Ellen of Brecksville, Ohio; grandchildren, Jenn Noggle and Brian Noggle, both of Brecksville, Ohio, and Brett Noggle of The Ohio State University; brother, Shelby Noggle of Farmington, N.M.; nephews, Ron Noggle of Albuquerque, N.M. and Cliff Barnes of Memphis, Tenn.; stepsons, Thomas Beard of Greenbrier, Ark. and David Beard of Cabot, Ark.; and the greatest neighbors a guy could have, Hal and Glenda Sellers of Vilonia. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m., Friday, February 4, 2011 at Griffin Leggett Funeral Home, 1751 Dave Ward Dr., Conway, Ark. 72034, 501-327-5000. Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Griffin Leggett Funeral Home, with Brother Jeff Russell officiating. Burial will follow at Vilonia Cemetery, Vilonia, Ark. Pallbearers will be Gerald Koker, George Kirby, Tom Stocks, Andy Metzer, Ron Noggle, and Cliff Barnes. Harold Stokes will serve as honorary pallbearer.
