Vera Drury Brown, 93 of Wynne, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2011 at River Ridge nursing home. She was born May 1, 1917 in Wynne, Ark. Vera was the devoted wife of Carson Brown for over 67 years, until his death in 2004. She was a vital member of the Ellis Chapel Church and Jolly Ellis Community. As a devoted farm wife, Vera spent much of her time gardening, cooking, caning, sewing and quilting. She is especially remembered by both family and friends for her delicious chocolate pies. She is survived by sons, Charlie Brown and wife Bunny; Jerry Brown and wife Carol of Wynne; sister, Elizabeth Adams of Colt; grandchildren; Corbin Brown, Roger Brown, Kim White, Amy Searcy and Brandon of Wynne, Leigh Fowler and Tim of Jonesboro and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at Kernodle funeral home in Wynne, Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011 at 2 p.m. Memorials may be made to Ellis Chapel Cemetery, c/o Donald Cox, 608 Hwy. 193, Wynne, Arkansas 72396. www.kernodlefh.com.
