Edgar W. Boast

Edgar W. Boast, 88, a resident of White Hall, died Wednesday, February 2, 2011, at White Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born December 16, 1922 in Pine Bluff, he was a son of John George and Louida Cash Boast. Mr. Boast was reared and received his early education in White Hall. He was a 1942 graduate of White Hall High School. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was a part of the D-Day invasion. Edgar Woodrow Boast married Earline Offutt in Pine Bluff on November 27, 1945. Mr. Boast was a self-employed bricklayer for 50 years. He was a member of Bethany Missionary Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman. Mr. Boast was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and three brothers. Survivors include his wife of sixty-five years, Earline Boast of White Hall; three sons, Larry D. Boast of Russellville, David W. Boast of White Hall, and Randall L. Boast of Pine Bluff; one brother, Virgil P. Boast of White Hall; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. The visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Friday, February 4, 2011, at Ralph Robinson & Son. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 5, 2011, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Brother Tony Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
