Bettie Beatrice Clark

Bettie Beatrice Clark2, 85, of Eudora, Ark. passed away January 25, 2011 at her residence in Eudora, Ark. She was born June 17, 1925 to the late Herman Clark and Addie Mathis Clark. Mrs. Clark was an active member of the following: Jericho M.B. Church Mothers‘ Board, Eudora Chapter #194 Order of Eastern Star, Eudora Community Mission, UAPB/AM&N College Alumni, International Reading Association, Arkansas Reading Association, and Southeast Arkansas Reading Council. She served as Director of the Eudora Community Vacation Bible School, Director of the Carmel District Youth Department, Chairman of the Program Committee for Jericho M.B. Church, Class #5 Sunday School Teacher, Secretary of Carmel District Musical Association, 2nd Vice President of the Chicot County Retired Teachers' Association, Sponsor of the Eudora Chapter OES Youth Department, and Secretary of the United Memorial Cemetery Club. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Amos Clark, six brothers and four sisters. She is survived by four sons: Josh E. Johnson, Sr. of Eudora, Ark., James R. Clark and Freddie Clark of Chicago, Ill., Jerry C. Clark of Milwaukee, Wis., and two special sons: George Akins Jr. of Princeton, N.J. and James E. Jackson of Lake Providence, La.; three daughters; Bettye D. Presley (Allen, Sr.) of Eudora, Ark., Linda R. Higgs of Chicago, Ill., Cleo H. Clark of Little Rock, Ark., one God-daughter; Ruth A. Brown Morgan, and two special daughters; Sheila Hamilton Keel of Inglewood, Calif. and JoAnne Thomas of Eudora, Ark., 22 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and four sisters-in-law; Mabel Clark of Little Rock, Ark., Myrtle Clark of Henderson, Nevada, Gertrude Clark of Dayton, Ohop, and Julia McCloyen of Lake Village, Ark. Funeral Service for Mrs. Clark will be held Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 12 noon at the Ministers' Institute Building in Eudora, Ark. with Rev. Albert L. Jones Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Mason Cemetery. Family Hour will be 5 to 6 p.m., Friday, February 4, 2011, at Griffin-Steele Funeral Service in Eudora. Pallbearers are: John Mitchell III, Josh E. Johnson Jr., Jamaal K. Johnson, Allen D. Presley Jr., Clark C. Burks, Corlin C. Burks, Elliott D. Rideout and Jerrell J. Johnson. Honorary Pallbearers are: Josh E. Johnson Sr., Allen D.
