Kuang Yong Cheng, 90, of Visalia, California, passed away in the late afternoon of February 3, 2011, at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born on November 28, 1920 in Zhejiang Province, China. He attended college in China and obtained a Ph.D. in Education. He later served as an editor for various newspapers and other publications in his native China. He married Lin Shin Cheng while living in China and the couple raised their family in Shanghai. The family later moved to Taiwan and then to the United States. The couple was married for more than 50 years. His primary love in life was his family. He was soft spoken and kind to those around him. His dedication to his family, especially to his wife, will be missed greatly. He is survived by his wife, Lin Shin Cheng of Visalia, Calif.; his three living daughters, Lulu Chi of Little Rock, Ark., Jen-Jen Liang of Springfield, Mo., and Pei-Pei Bigbee of Austin, Texas; his living son, Hao Cheng of San Francisco, Calif.; his grandchildren, Barton Kuen-Yeu Liang and Laura Kuen-Miin Liang of Springfield, Mo., Jasen Chi and Jacob Chi of Little Rock, Ark., Hope Bigbee of Austin, Texas, Deborah Hsu and Peter Hsu of Fresno, Calif. He is preceded in death by his daughter, San-San Hsu of Fresno, Calif. Visitation will be held at Roller Chenal Funeral Home in Little Rock, Ark. from 7-9 p.m. on Friday evening, February 4, 2011. Graveside services will be held at Forest Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 5, 2011. Pallbearers are Jacob Chi, Jasen Chi, Bill Chi, Terry Bigbee, Jyh-Peyng Liang, and Robert Tju. Funeral services are being directed by Roller Chenal Funeral Home (501) 224-8300 in Little Rock, AR.
