PAULINE "POLLY" ANN HARDIN, 77, of Little Rock went to be with our Heavenly Father on Feb, 3, 2011, after a courageous 13 year battle with breast cancer. Polly was born on March 9, 1933, in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. She received her RN and then her Bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing and worked as head nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital. She married the love of her life, Howard Hardin, in 1961. She taught nursing students at St. Vincent Infirmary and served as president of the Little Rock Jaycettes, a division of Little Rock Chamber of Commerce. She later became a volunteer at St. Vincent Infirmary where she put in over 500 hours of service. Polly was a supportive mother of four daughters and spent her time as a room mother, Girl Scout leader and sports fan. She was kind, intelligent and encouraged excellence. She was best known for her friendly demeanor and clever sense of humor. More importantly, her strong faith was an example to her children and all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Pauline and Stephen Hudak; and her brothers, Stephen and Paul. She is survived by her extraordinary caregiver and devoted husband of fifty years, Howard Hardin; and four daughters, Karen Haring (Brett) of Raleigh, N.C., Barbara Powers (Michael) of Naperville, Ill., Alice Krupa (Jay) of Garden City, N.Y., and Amy Surber (Fred) of St. Louis, Mo.; and 11 grandchildren who fondly called her "Honey." Her siblings, Barbara Schnur, Irma Crozier and Leonard Hudak also survive her. Visitation will be Monday, Feb. 7, 2011, from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m., with a Rosary at 6 p.m. at Christ The King Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, Feb. 8, at 10 a.m. at the church. Arrangements are by Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, (501)224-8300.
