Helen Bratton, born July 23, 1927, in Pine Bluff, Ark., and died Jan. 16, 2011, in Rowlett, Texas. Helen was the daughter of Myrtle Lee Chaney Bratton born near England, Ark., and remembered as Miss Myrtle Lee who taught in McClung and Tomberlin grade schools. Miss Myrtle Lee was the daughter of Bob and Maggie Chaney of Tomberlin. Helen was clerical administrator in Arkansas, Texas and Israel/Egypt. Helen attained her MSE from North Texas State University and was named Teacher of the Year in Grand Prairie, Texas. She was an active member of Daughters of the American Revolution. Helen was loved by her husband, her parents, two brothers and their spouses, eight aunts/uncles and spouses, seven nieces/nephews and spouses, 16 grandnieces/nephews and spouses, 11 great-grandnieces/nephews, six cousins and their families, co-workers, students and innumerable friends. A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, at Tomberlin Cemetery on State Hwy. 31 in Tomberlin, Ark.
